What are these settings!!?

Updated: May 20, 2024

You may have bought or got a nicer camera as a gift. Then as you go through it you wonder, what are all these buttons for? "What is" becomes the question of the day. Well lets look at a few of them. Now you can look up shutter speed, ISO and aperture on my YouTube channel and there are others that speak of this.

But lets look at something you may have overlooked. White Balance. ever take a picture and its orange or blue.

Its your white balance. It is how the camera is seeing the light. Easy fix, just go into your setting and find white balance. On digital cameras, as you scroll through the different ones, it will show on the lcd screen the difference. Pick the one that fits the lighting around you. If your inside, usually its incandescent or shade. And BOOM the orange is gone!

One other thing to look at is Histogram. It looks like a heart monitor in the bottom or side of your screen. What you

don't want, well usually, you don't want spikes in one direction or another. Too the right it is too bright, too the left it is to dark. What your looking for is even lines. The more even your lines the more balanced your photo is. Which means, less post edit work!!! and that's a good thing. The more you can get it right in camera the less work you have to do.

So there are two things in your settings that are easy fixes and don't take that much time to do. Now go out and take some pics!
