Wanting to get creative with your portraits? Try light painting

You can light paint with anything; flashlight, fiber optic brush, colored lights, etc.

Some tips to remember:

Have the room or area you are in be totally dark. Have the light on to find your settings

and way around. Just remember to turn them off. Don't want light leak in your image.

When using a flashlight or optic brush only go over the body once.

The photo example is a fiber optic brush

Why? any slight movement by your subject will cause a blur and you don't want that.

Unless your wanting to create a blur of sorts.

What is the settings you ask? Depends on how much light painting you are doing.

You want enough time to do the whole person.

Start with 8 sec. f14 iso 100 and go from there.

Quick tip: use the 2 second timer and/or a shutter release, specially on Bulb mode.

Let's see how creative you can be!
