As a local photographer in the Detroit Metro Area, based in Novi and Northville, Michigan, I’ve built a life full of family moments, exploration, and creativity. My passion for photography is deeply rooted in my love for capturing the beauty of life’s fleeting moments, especially through the eyes of my son. Every time we go on one of our little adventures—whether it's a hike in a local park, or just playing around in the backyard—I'm constantly inspired to see the world differently and bring that perspective into my photography.
Family is at the heart of everything I do. It’s what drives me to pursue photography even more, whether I’m capturing the joy of a maternity session, the love between a couple during their engagement, or the timeless bond of a family in a photoshoot. Funny enough, my son has become quite the assistant. I’ll never forget this one family shoot where he decided to "help" by suggesting poses and running around with a reflector (that was half his size, mind you). The family loved it, and it ended up turning into an impromptu play session with some candid, laughter-filled shots that became their favorites. Moments like that remind me that photography isn’t just about perfect lighting or composition—it’s about capturing genuine, spontaneous memories.
When it comes to my favorite type of photography, I’ve always been drawn to creative shoots where I can play around with lighting and concepts. Who says a photo has to be perfectly exposed? Some of my most rewarding shots have come from bending the rules of lighting—whether it’s intentionally underexposing to create a moody vibe or overexposing for an ethereal feel. In the end, it’s not just a picture we’re creating, it’s art. Photography allows me to express creativity in ways that stretch beyond the ordinary.
